Signs Your Pet Needs Vet Help

Pet Needs are very special for all of us. They are not just animals but become a part of the house. They love us and always stay with us. But the problem is that they cannot speak. Whenever something happens to them they only tell through their voice. Now we have to understand what their problem is. Many times there are small signs which we ignore. But those small things sometimes become a big problem. So if your pet behaves strangely, stops eating, sleeps too much or walks less, then all these can be signs that a vet is needed. In this article, I am telling you which signs you should be alert to. So that you can help your beloved pet on time.

Change in eating and drinking

If your stomach suddenly stops eating or starts drinking less water, then it is a warning sign. This could be due to some trouble, like mouth pain or stomach problems. Sometimes the stomach eats too much or even drinks water. This could mean diabetes or kidney problems. Every stomach has a routine of eating and drinking.

If this routine suddenly changes, do not ignore it. If the pet does not eat even its favourite things, then it could be serious. Many times the stomach stops eating due to fever or pain. In such cases do not delay and get it checked by a vet doctor.

Weight  being less or more

Increase or decrease in abdominal weight without any reason is a problem. If abdominal weight suddenly decreases, it could be due to parasite infection, cancer, liver problem or weak stomach. Sometimes the stomach becomes sick but hides its pain. Decrease in abdominal weight is the first sign of its health.

If abdominal weight starts increasing and it is still working as before, it is a sign of hormonal problem, thyroid or diabetes. Increase in weight also has a bad effect on the health of the stomach. Hence it is very important to get your abdominal weight checked every month. If you notice any difference in your weight, do not be afraid. You should consult a doctor. Ignoring a change in weight can cause great trouble.

Change of behavior

Change in behavior is often the first sign of some problem in pet health.

  • Quiet stay

If the stomach suddenly becomes silent and isolates itself, it can be a sign of a health problem. Being silent is due to pain or restlessness.

  • Chidh-Chidhapan

If the stomach shows excessive irritation or gets angry easily, then this is also a matter of concern. This often happens due to pain or restlessness.

  • Aggression

Sometimes the stomach tries to bite in anger. This can be a result of pain or stress. Do not ignore sudden aggression.

  • Deficiency in the game

If your pet has lost its first interest in playing or walking, then understand that something is not right. This is a big signal of a health problem.

  • See a doctor immediately

Do not ignore such behavioral changes. It is important to consult a vet immediately. This can save your pet from serious illness.

 Breathing problem

If your pet’s breathing rapidly then this is extremely serious. Breathing difficulties or rapid breathing can be an indication of lung or heart condition. If the pet’s chest is rising and falling rapidly, it indicates that the animal is struggling to breathe. Coughing could also be a sign of infection, allergy or kennel cough. Sometimes the pet opens its mouth while breathing or remains restless late at night. If this is the case, then do not delay. Take it to a vet quickly. Ignoring breathing problems could prove fatal.

Eyes, Nose and Ear Problems

If there is water or discharge from the eyes of the pet, it could be a sign of allergy or infection. Redness or swelling of the eyes also point towards a problem. Continuous discharge of liquid from the nose or frequent snoring is due to a viral infection. If there is a bad smell coming from the ears of the pet or those ears itch a lot, it could be ear mites or infection. Do not ignore such symptoms. Get it checked by a vet quickly. The vet will provide the best treatment. If these problems persist for a long time, the health of the pet can deteriorate.

Skin Problems

Skin condition tells a lot about the health of the pet. If there is a lot of itching in the pet’s body, then it is a matter of concern. Red spots or wounds could be due to fungal infection, allergy, or ticks/fleas. If hair fall increases and patches start forming, then one should immediately consult a doctor. It is not right to ignore skin problems. It is important to get treatment done quickly otherwise the infection can worsen. A vet can provide the best treatment.

Changing Toilet Habits

A pet’s potty and urine give a good signal about its health. If the pet is going to the bathroom frequently, then it is a matter of concern. If the potty is soft or watery, or blood is seen in it, then it could be stomach infection, worms, or internal bleeding. If the color of urine is dark, or if the pet is going to the bathroom along with pain, then it could be urinary tract infection or kidney stone. Do not ignore such signs. If you are worried please consult your vet as soon as you can. Problems that emerge don’t take care of themselves and can become more severe if not treated promptly.

Conclusion

Pets are not just animals for us, they become a part of our family. They love us unconditionally, therefore it is our responsibility to take care of them. The only issue is that they cannot speak. If they are in pain or have any discomfort, they tell us only through their actions. If we notice any change in their body language, eating habits, or behaviour, we should not ignore it.

Understanding on time and getting a check-up done by the vet is important for both their health and life. The signs mentioned above, if they are seen in your pet, do not delay. It would be wise to see a physician. If you want to keep the pet healthy, need the owner spent some time and energy. Because a happy pet is the reason for your happiness.
